Jabar Ekspres – Marc Marquez will have a tough test to maintain his status as “king” of the Sachsenring Circuit when MotoGP arrives in Germany for the seventh race of the 2023 season this weekend.
At the 3.67km circuit, Marquez is the most successful rider with 11 wins from his last 11 appearances across all classes since 2010.
Marquez deserves the nickname “SachsenKing” for being unbeaten since 2013 with eight top podiums in the MotoGP class, most recently in 2021 when he took his first emotional victory since a prolonged injury in 2020.
The Repsol Honda team rider will be looking to heal the frustration he gained after his crash in Italy last week, and his failure to finish a single Grand Prix race this season.
Mugello proved to be a tough nut to crack for Marquez, who has now shifted his focus from one of the fastest circuits on the calendar to one of the slowest and most technical as Honda continues to improve the bike’s performance.

“When you have a difficult weekend, the best thing that can happen is to race again straight away,” Marquez is quoted as saying by the team’s official website.
“We arrive at the Sachsenring, a track I really like and have had a lot of success there. Of course, I want to perform well, 100 percent focus and determination as usual.
“There will be many challengers this year and we need to work well from the start of the weekend to prepare Saturday and Sunday and continue the development of the Honda,” said Marquez, who missed Germany last year as he continued his injury recovery.
While Marquez has not been able to bring out the “awesomeness” of the RC213V motorbike this year, Francesco Bagnaia is enjoying one of the most stable and strongest rides that have brought him firmly to the top of the standings.
