JABAR EKSPRES – Air quality in New York City, United States, could worsen due to the impact of wildfires in neighboring Canada.
“Due to the direction of the incoming winds and ongoing Canadian wildfires, New York City could experience worse air quality tomorrow, Wednesday, June 28,” Mayor Eric Adams said on Twitter.
“We will inform New Yorkers about outdoor conditions and actions they can take to stay healthy,” he said, adding.

He warned that poor air quality is dangerous for sensitive groups of people, such as people with respiratory or cardiovascular problems.
If traveling outdoors, Adams said, residents can wear KN95 or N95 masks or avoid outdoor events altogether.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul warned that smoke was also expected to blanket the air across New York on Thursday (6/29).
“Air quality is expected to reach unhealthy levels in some areas,” she said.
Earlier this month, millions of people were affected by smoke from wildfires in Canada, which left parts of New York and Philadelphia in an orange haze.
