Justin Barki Steps Into Harum Energy World Tennis Tour final

Before the semifinals, Justin had to play a last-eight match that was delayed due to rain in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Senayan throughout Friday (16/6). The left-handed tennis player overthrew the seventh seed from Japan Kazuma Kawachi with 6-4, 6-4.

Facing his first career singles summit party on Sunday (18/6), Justin said he would give his best when challenging Omar Jasika.

“He is more experienced and he plays left-handed too. Both are kebot. So, yes, I’ll do my best tomorrow,” said Justin.

Meanwhile, Omar Jasika beat two Japanese representatives in one day on Saturday. The first seed from Australia overcame Tomohiro Masabayashi in the semifinals in two straight sets 6-1, 6-3.

Earlier, the 2014 US Open Junior singles and doubles champion posted an emphatic victory over Sora Fukuda 6-1, 6-1.

“(Tomohiro) is a talented young player. However, I played well today. Not my best level. I started this year quite badly. Now, I’m getting closer to my best game,” said the Bosnian-born player who has five ITF singles titles.

In the tournament, Omar stated that he wanted to restore his confidence and recover his physical condition.

When touring at the Chalengger level earlier this year, he injured his hand, which led him to take a break from professional tournaments.

“These two weeks, I want to increase my professional matches by coming to Jakarta. After this, I will go back to playing in Challengers in America,” Omar says.

Looking ahead to his first final of the year, he says he is feeling fitter.

“I am eating well. My preparation, as I have done in the past two weeks, I will rest soon. The final I’m sure will be a fierce battle,” said the tennis player who is targeting to break into the top hundred by the end of this year.
