“We were really focused, but because of the wind we struggled at critical moments,” said An San, who won three gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, as broadcast by World Archery.

“We lost because we didn’t arch well, so we have to accept it and now arch better individually.”

South Korea made its international archery debut at the world championships in Berlin 44 years ago when their female archers took the gold medal. In 25 appearances, they have won the event 17 times.

With the loss, the South Korean women’s team recurve team was unable to win a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics through this tournament.

Despite defeating South Korea, the Indonesian women’s team recurve team unfortunately had to stop in the quarterfinals after losing to France, which was strengthened by Caroline Lopez, Lisa Barbelin, and Audrey Adiceom, with a score of 3-5.

Meanwhile in the men’s sector, the Indonesian team recurve team, consisting of Riau Ega Agatha Salsabila, Alviyanto Bagas Prastyadi, and Arif Dwi Pangestu, also reached the quarterfinals of the Berlin 2023 Hyundai World Archery Championship.

They defeated the Swiss men’s team recurve team 6-0 in the first round, then beat the German men’s team recurve team 5-3 in the second round.
