Jabar Ekspres – McLaren rookie racer Oscar Piastri said he did not want to give up on winning his first podium in Formula 1 competition, after finishing in the top four at the British Grand Prix.
“We still have a long way to go to challenge the next few teams, but everything is still possible if we can continue to have a good weekend like this,” Piastri said, quoted from AFP, Monday.

The Australian racer described his fourth place finish as a “bitter-sweet” moment, considering he had tried to maintain third position from the start to the middle of the race, before he was finally overtaken by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) – who finished behind Lando Norris (McLaren) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull).
“It’s a bitter-sweet result. That’s the best way to describe my feelings. But if you look at it from another aspect is that we achieved this result based on (a trend of) achievement,” he said of his best Formula 1 result in his debut season.
“I think getting this result with a lucky incident is one thing, but we are really the second fastest team (at the British GP), and this is a very happy surprise,” he added.
Furthermore, the 22-year-old racer also praised the team for their hard work and recent improvements.
“The biggest appreciation and appreciation for the team. Obviously the improvements we brought to the car worked very well. These are exciting times to look to the future, and we are happy to be back in the front position,” he said.
“I think we still have weaknesses on some tracks, but we still have strengths. And I think Silverstone might be good for our car,” he said.
