JABAR EKSPRES – Defender Chris Smalling has officially extended his contract with the AS Roma team by two years until 2025.
“Smalling is here to stay! We are delighted to announce that the defender has signed a new contract with the club until June 30, 2025! #ASRoma,” wrote an official announcement from the club’s social media, Friday.
Since arriving from Manchester United in August 2019 ago, footballer 33 that year has recorded 143 appearances and scored 10 goals and also won one cup, namely the UEFA Conference League (UECL) 2021/2022.
AS Roma General Manager of Football Tiago Pinto said the signing of the former England national team player’s new contract was because the player performed well and was also a role model for young players during his four years in the Giallorossi uniform.

“We are happy to be able to rely on his defensive strength and leadership skills. He is a key figure in the dressing room and a role model for the young players in our squad,” he added.
Speaking about his contract extension, Smalling said the decision to stay at the club now managed by Jose Mourinho was made very easily because of several factors such as the club’s future plans, being accepted from day one, and the support of Romanisti.
