On the same occasion, the Vice President also welcomed the meeting of the Ministers of Tourism of Indonesia and Uzbekistan held on June 7, 2023.
The Vice President hoped that the meeting could become a momentum to enhance cooperative relations between the two countries.
Closing the meeting, the Vice President reiterated the importance of Samarkand for Indonesian Muslims.

He emphasized that Indonesian leaders have always visited Imam Bukhari’s tomb when visiting Uzbekistan, such as President Sukarno in 1956 and President Soeharto in 1995.
“This morning I have also visited Imam Bukhari’s tomb,” he explained.
