Therefore, Bank Indonesia is collaborating with the Teachers Association of the Republic of Indonesia (PGRI) of West Papua Province to optimize education and literacy related to rupiah.
“So that people can treat rupiah appropriately, and avoid the crime of counterfeit money,” said Rommy at the CBP training of trainer (ToT) activity.
He explained that CBP education also aims to realize the stability of rupiah value, payment system, and financial system in supporting sustainable economic growth.
Love rupiah is a manifestation of the ability of the community to recognize the characteristics and design of rupiah as a legal tender in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
“The rupiah is also a symbol of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, and a tool to unify the nation,” said Rommy.
As the spearhead of education, he said, teachers directly influence, foster and develop students’ abilities in the learning process in order to become a skilled, intelligent, and highly moral young generation.
Therefore, Rommy hopes that the implementation of training of trainers can be maximally utilized by teachers who are members of PGRI.
“Teachers as ToT participants can provide education to students at school,” he said.
He also appealed to all conventional banks in West Papua to play an active role in campaigning the CBP program in every activity.
The synergy of this collaboration intends that education about the rupiah can be conveyed to all levels of society.
