JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesian pilgrims began to enjoy golf cart services in the Mina area to facilitate access to the maktab after throwing jumrah.
“Yes, they have been operationalized and parked there in rows,” said PHU Director General Hilman Latief, at the Indonesian Hajj Mission Tent, Mina, Thursday (6/29).
Hilman admitted that the operation of golf carts has not been as expected, because they are only parked at certain points.
“It is not as easy as we expected. It has been requested for a long time since last year and the car can only be in certain places,” said Hilman.
Hilman explained that the operational time of the golf cart is not limited and it is very helpful for pilgrims who get lost after throwing the jumrah because the road is closed by the Saudi Arabian security team and get lost when leaving the maktab.

“Especially yesterday, the first day the pilgrims were still orienting the place. Returning from wudlu to return to the tent, it turned out to be out and far from the tent occupied, because the shape of the tent is the same,” Hilman said.
From observations at the location, the golf cart operates on bridge 04 which makes it easier for pilgrims to return to the maktab, especially those on the ridge such as maktab 73, 72, 71, 70, then maktab 57 to 62.
The car is used to take pilgrims who are separated from their entourage and get lost far from their maktab after throwing the Jamarat jumrah.
The hajj participant who utilized the golf cart facility was Saadah (55), a hajj participant from SOC 35, who was lost and did not know the way back to her maktab after throwing the jumrah.
“I left in the morning after Fajr prayer with my friends to Jamarat to throw the jumrah. But when I got back, I was separated from the group,” said Saadah, Thursday (6/29).
