JABAR EKSPRES – The Indonesian badminton team still has a number of players left in the semifinals of the BWF Super 1000 Indonesia Open 2023 with the presence of men’s doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan and men’s singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Saturday.
Despite leaving only two representatives, the players admitted that they were still ready to compete optimally in front of fans who watched live at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta.
“I didn’t expect to be able to reach the semifinals, I’m quite happy that I was able to perform quite well. But we have to remember there are still more matches, we have to perform well,” Pramudya said in a press conference on Friday (16/6) night.
The pair who were previously down due to injury were finally able to return to the Indonesia Open 2023 and qualify for the semifinals, an achievement they failed to realize in last year’s edition due to an injury suffered by Jeremiah.

At that time, the lead and victory that was already in sight was lost when Jeremiah suffered a severe injury to his leg. As a result, they had to give up their semifinal ticket to Malaysian men’s doubles Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.
But at this Indonesia Open, the two pairs will meet again in the semifinals and both will compete harder for the final ticket.
Unlike Ginting, he actually went through a dramatic match in the quarter-finals after defeating his close friend at Pelatnas PBSI, Jonatan Christie.
In the semifinals, the world’s second-ranked men’s singles will host Li Shi Feng from China in Indonesia Open 2023.
Based on the records of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on its official website, Ginting wiped out all records of his meeting against Li with a score of 3-0.
