JABAR EKSPRES – Pelindo Regional 4, which oversees the Paotere People’s Port, is ready to develop the port as a tourist destination like Sunda Kelapa Port.
“So we are gradually improving Paotere Port, starting from the implementation of electronic tickets or E-Pass first,” said Pelindo Regional Head 4 Enriany Muis in Makassar, Sunday.
She said the implementation of E-Pass is one of the requirements for investors to help develop Pelra Paotere tourist destinations.

This was confirmed by the Head of Paotere Area Unit, Hadriana Hasan.
She said, the Port is currently being looked at by investors and the use of E-Pass is one of the requirements for investors to invest in the Paotere Port area.
“We are reorganizing the Pelra Paotere area which is quite visited by foreign tourists,” she said.
The reason is that Pelra is not only a port area that connects small islands in South Sulawesi and other islands in eastern Indonesia.
Paotere Port is also one of the tourist sites because it is the oldest people’s port in South Sulawesi.
It is planned that investors will enter to participate in organizing the Port, one of the conditions is that the E-Pass must be operational.
Herdiana said that the investor will build a mini soccer to facilitate especially residents around the area who like mini soccer.

In addition, his party is also reorganizing land rentals, especially for street vendors (PK5) and making photo booths, so that the Paotere Port area is more attractive for more tourists to visit.
Currently, there are around 49 PK5s that utilize Pelindo’s land at Paotere Port.
“Hopefully all the efforts and improvements we make in the Port area will receive support from all parties, especially port stakeholders and service users and of course the surrounding community,” he explained.
