Sandy Walsh Ruled out Against Palestine Due to Injury

JABAR EKSPRES – National team player Sandy Walsh is confirmed to be absent or unable to play in the FIFA Matchday match against Palestine at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium Surabaya due to injury.

“Indeed, in my mind, Sandy was as the first line up, but how else could not be included,” said Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong after leading training at GBT Stadium Surabaya, Saturday night.

Sandy had a problem with his leg during training at Thor Field on Wednesday (7/6) afternoon.

When injured. the descendant player immediately lay in the middle of the field and was visited by the national team doctor for treatment. Since then, Sandy has been training separately from his colleagues.

Shin Tae-yong regretted that Sandy Walsh could not play, but the South Korean coach still allowed him to join the training camp.

“The injury is in the calf. The coaching team and I are trying to get him to join the next match (against Argentina),” he said.

In addition, Shin will still wait for players who have not joined to immediately train with the team.

“For players from Makassar because there are still matches and outside of my authority, I can’t do anything but because they are still playing. So physically, they are still good and can play immediately,” he said.

Meanwhile, Indonesian national team manager Sumardji confirmed that the problem experienced by the Belgian-born player was not an old injury, but a new one and could still be handled.

“For the MRI results, there is indeed a slight injury, it can still be handled,” said the Polri middle officer.

During training on Saturday night, Sandy practiced separately and did light exercises on the sidelines with one of the officials.
