JABAR EKSPRES —The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team found two tourists who were swept away by the waves while swimming at Santolo Beach, Garut Regency, West Java, dead.
Head of the Garut Police Air and Water Police Unit, AKP Anang Sonjaya, confirmed that two tourists who were reported missing while swimming at Santolo Beach on Wednesday (26/4) had been found dead.
“They have been found,” Anang said when contacted by cellular phone in Garut, Friday (28/4).
He said that Muhamad Hisam (17) was the first victim found on Thursday (27/4) evening, while Firmandi (17) was found on Friday morning not far from the initial location of the missing victims at Santolo Beach.

Both victims, said Anang, were then taken to the hospital before being handed over to the funeral home using an ambulance in Malangbong Subdistrict, Garut Regency.
“They were taken to a funeral home in Malangbong, delivered by an ambulance from the Cikelet Health Center after they had been shrouded,” he said.
Cikelet Sector Police Chief AKP Usep Heryaman added that the discovery of the two victims was the result of the cooperation of all teams and the community, and henceforth the search operation was stopped.
“With the discovery of the two victims, the SAR operation is officially closed, hopefully in the future there will be no similar incidents, and tourists will be more careful and always pay attention to the signs,” he said.
Previously, the two tourists who were swept away by the waves were Firmandi (17) and Muhamad Hisam (17), residents of Cisampih Village, Haurkuning Village, Malangbong District, Garut.
The victim and his friends traveled to fill the Eid holiday by visiting beach attractions in southern Garut, then swam together, unexpectedly they were swept away by the waves at Santolo Beach, Wednesday (4/26) at around 3 p.m. WIB.
