JABAR EKSPRES —The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has again prepared hundreds of integrated posts to support the smooth flow of homecoming and return of Lebaran 2023.
“This homecoming post is to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community during the homecoming and return flows,” said PMI Deputy Treasurer, Jacobus Dwihartanto (Om Jack), in Semarang on Thursday (13/4).
The Golkar politician said the PMI post is routinely opened every year and coordinates with the regional PMI board and local stakeholders.

According to him, as many as 150-200 PMI homecoming posts are prepared at a number of points, especially on homecoming routes that have been crossing travelers from Jakarta to Central Java and East Java.
“The number of homecoming posts that we have prepared is around 150-200 units, most of which are in Central Java. However, we still prioritize all regions and there are no specific areas that we give exceptions to,” he said.
Om Jack explained that the homecoming posts are also equipped with supporting infrastructure such as ambulances, medical equipment and health workers.
On the other hand, PMI has also anticipated the possibility of blood stock shortages that occur during Ramadan.
The Chairman of the Golkar Party’s Community Health Services Agency admitted that during Ramadan, blood stocks tend to decrease significantly, even by up to 70 percent.
“We have anticipated long before entering the month of Ramadan, so we make sure that the overall PMI blood stock for now is relatively safe. The need for blood stock is highest in Jakarta, Surabaya and Semarang,” he said.
