Until Noon, Thousands of Free Palestine Protesters Still Speak Out at Gedung Merdeka

JABAR EKSPRES – The scorching sun that stung the shoulders of thousands of protesters did not dampen their spirit to show solidarity with the people of Palestine. From Bandung, West Java, they chanted ‘Free Palestine’. The rally entitled AKSI JAWA BARAT (JABAR) SUPPORT PALESTINE stopped in front of Gedung Merdeka, Jalan Asia-Afrika.

After a long march from Gedung Sate, thousands of people continued to walk around the location that once witnessed the Asia-Africa Conference.

The determination to provide support was felt from one of the thousands of protesters. That was Wulandari (26). She, who is an activist of a community called Sahabat Baik, was moved to stand in solidarity with the action that took place on Saturday (21/10) afternoon.

“I joined the long march from Pusdai, then Gedung Sate, and ended at Gedung Merdeka,” said Wulandari during the rally.

The woman who is familiarly called Wulan comes from Garut. Distance is not an excuse for her to show solidarity with the conflict in Gaza Strip.

With the protest that lasted until noon, Wulan hoped that the eyes of the world would be opened wider. That the narrative made by the media from western countries is not always true.

“In fact, campaigns (rallies, ted) like this help our brothers and sisters there. Maybe we can’t go there. But by sharing their actual conditions there,” he hoped.

Simultaneously at Gedung Merdeka, a resident of Bandung, Jessica Jasmine (33) also agreed about the imbalance of information conveyed by the western media.

So according to her, the action carried out by thousands of people today can provide good news.

“So (this action) can improve the paradigm. We are trying to help Palestine. With this solidarity,” he concluded.
