JABAR EKSPRES – The death toll from an Israeli military attack on the West Bank city of Jenin has risen to 12, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry on Tuesday (7/4).
Nearly 120 others were injured in the attack, with 20 of them in serious condition, according to the ministry statement.
Right-wing Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, urged Israelis to carry weapons after a civilian shot and killed a Palestinian attacker who wounded seven people in a stabbing and ramming attack, Israel’s Times newspaper reported.
“This proves once again the importance and effectiveness of citizens carrying weapons,” Ben Gvir told reporters.
“I call on the public who meet the criteria: carry a weapon,” he said.

Israeli police said Tuesday that they received reports of “a car that hit a number of people” on Pinkhas Rosen Street in Tel Aviv, and said that seven people were injured in the attack.
The attacker then got out of the vehicle and managed to stab one of the victims before being shot to death by an armed Israeli citizen, according to the Israeli Times.
The Palestinian Resistance Group, Hamas, claimed responsibility for the attack and said that it was the “first reply” to the Israeli attack that took place in Jenin.
Tensions have continued to rise across the occupied West Bank in recent months amid repeated Israeli raids on Palestinian cities.
On Monday (3/7), Israeli forces launched their largest assault on Jenin in more than 20 years, including on the refugee camp.
A total of 190 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of this year, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
On the Israeli side, at least 25 people have been killed in separate attacks during the same period.
