JABAR EKSPRES – The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing has invited Chinese journalists to cover the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in September.
“Given the importance of ASEAN to China, we invite Chinese journalists to cover the ASEAN Summit,” Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said in Beijing on Saturday.
Previously, Indonesian Deputy Ambassador in Beijing Dino R Kusnadi had also met with several journalists from ASEAN who were on duty in China.
According to him, relations between ASEAN and China have strengthened since the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was agreed in November 2021.
“This year RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) will be fully implemented in ASEAN because all countries have ratified it,” Dino said.
ASEAN has become China’s largest trading partner in recent years.
Based on data from China’s Ministry of Customs (GACC), the value of China-ASEAN trade has touched 227.8 billion U.S. dollars during the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 7.6 percent compared to the achievement in the first quarter of 2022.

When the G20 Summit was held in Bali in November 2022, more than 100 Chinese journalists traveled to the Island of the Gods to cover the event. Several foreign media crews who opened representative offices in China also applied for journalist visas to the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing for coverage of the G20 Summit in Bali.
Information gathered by ANTARA Beijing said that Premier Li Qiang is expected to attend the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in September.
