JABAR EKSPRES – Introduction of pilgrims from Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, has swelled in the Sudiang Hajj Dormitory area in Makassar.
“This has become a tradition for Jeneponto people who have families going to the holy land, they must be escorted by their families,” said one of the Jeneponto JCH escorts, Nursia in Makassar, Monday (6/19).
She said that the motivation to escort the pilgrims was so that they would also receive blessings and be able to go to the holy land like those being escorted at this time.

“We are willing to stay in cars or the courtyard of the dormitory, and some even rent houses just to see our families being released from the dormitory to the airport,” he said.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Hajj Pilgrimage Organizing Committee (PPIH) of Makassar Embarkation, H Khaeroni.
He said that Jeneponto’s JCH escorts have always been known to be the most numerous and crowded. The euphoria of escorting families who will leave for the holy land has become a tradition.
Despite the presence of a large number of introducers compared to introducers from other districts in South Sulawesi, he continued, it certainly will not affect or interfere with the stages of the implementation of JCH debriefing before being dispatched to the holy land of Mecca.
As a result of the large number of Jeneponto JCH introducers, since the arrival of the congregation, the Sudiang highway has become completely jammed by two- and four-wheeled vehicles and pedestrians who arrived early. While the JCH from Jeneponto Regency who joined the group is scheduled to be flown to the holy land of Mecca at 04.00 Wita, Tuesday (6/20).
