Toyota to Export 22,000 Units of All New Yaris Cross This Year!

JABAR EKSPRES – PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) is targeting to export 22,000 units of the All New Yaris Cross this year to countries in Latin America and Asia.

Through a press release received in Jakarta on Tuesday, the company will also continue to increase the number of exports to reach 40 thousand units in 2025. The presence of the Yaris Cross in domestic and international markets can also contribute to the government’s efforts to increase the value of the national trade balance.

To achieve this target, Toyota Indonesia will set a 5 percent increase in the number of exports at 316,000 units by the end of 2023 by targeting the growing African market.

“The local production of Yaris Cross, including batteries and engines, is a form of our contribution to continue to increase the depth of the domestic industry, especially in increasing the number of local supply chains involved,” said PT TMMIN External Relations Director Bob Azam.

With the presence of this locally produced vehicle, according to him, it will further strengthen Indonesia’s position as one of the production and export bases for Toyota vehicles in Asia Pacific even in the era of electrification.

He continued that this country has been highly trusted by the principal, by making it the first country to carry out local production of the model after the birth of the Kijang Innova Zenix some time ago.

Various important parts, such as the electric battery for the Yaris Cross, have also been assembled directly at the Karawang 3 plant. According to him, the birth of this vehicle is a clear proof of the depth of the national automotive manufacturing industry to the level of a more dominant local component industry.

“By producing the Yaris Cross, we added up to 12 new suppliers so that a total of 116 suppliers contributed local content value of up to 80 percent. This is not an easy achievement, but we believe that it is the development and strengthening of the national automotive industry that can answer various challenges and sharpen Indonesia’s position and potential in the global electrified vehicle competition,” he said.
