Jabar Ekspres – Indonesia Patriots Head Coach Milos Pejic returned to his hometown in Serbia to complete his personal affairs in the final series of the IBL competition 2023 which will be held at Britama Arena Jakarta, starting Saturday (17/6).
“Coach Milos is in his country. He has permission to return home to settle his personal affairs. As for the Jakarta Series, the Patriots are not accompanied by Coach Milos,” said National Team Agency Secretary (BTN) Ary Chandra in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Ary said the Indonesia Patriots will be accompanied by a number of assistant coaches in the last series of IBL competitions, namely the Jakarta Series which will be held at the weekend. So far, Milos Pejic has been assisted by assistant coaches such as Johannis Winar, Wahyu Widayat Jati, and Tyler Arturo Farias. Meanwhile, Coach Johannis Winar is believed to be in control.

Johannis Winar, who is intimately called Coach Ahang, does not mind the responsibility given to him during the Jakarta Series IBL competition. For him, this is a mandate that must be carried out as well as possible.
“For me, this is a challenge. We will work hard to prepare the team so that we can give our best in the Jakarta Series,” explained Coach Ahang.
Currently, the basketball club under the direction of PP Perbasi Indonesia Patriots is ranked ninth in the IBL standings for the 2023 season. From 27 matches, Daniel Salamena and friends posted 12 wins and 15 defeats. With a collection of 39 points, this is the same as the capital owned by the two teams above it, namely Bali United Basketball and Bumi Borneo Basketball Pontianak.
To be able to advance to the IBL playoffs 2023, Indonesia Patriots must at least finish eighth in the standings at the end of the regular season. The Patriots have just three matches left in the Jakarta Series, namely against Elang Pacific Caesar Surabaya on June 17, Evos Thunder Bogor June 19, and the final match against Tangerang Hawks on June 22.
