JABAR EKSPRES – Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez expressed his disappointment after not finishing the race (DNF) at the Italian MotoGP 2023, last weekend.
Marquez admitted that he had ridden well and tried to appear carefree. However, there were certain challenges and moments that eventually made him fall and get out of the race.
“I rode very well and (adrift) with a little margin, I also felt comfortable and not stressed. I saw (Pecco) Bagnaia and (Jorge) Martin qualify, so I focused on staying with (Luca) Marini in that group and trying to achieve my goal of the top six or seven. I had a moment at Turn 10 on the first lap and then came back into the last corner before I crashed,” said Marquez, quoted from the team’s official statement on Monday Italian MotoGP 2023.
After a fairly good performance from the qualifying and Sprint rounds, Marquez started the main race by lining up on the front row of the grid. Temperatures continued to rise throughout the day and light rain fell in the afternoon.

The start of the race was aggressive with riders in the first five grid positions jostling for position at the first corner. In those conditions, Marquez held on and moved into fifth.
He competed with his younger brother Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing), Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM), and Luca Marini (Mooney VR46) for a small gap that would lead one of them to third Italian MotoGP 2023.
Unfortunately, at the moment of entering the last corner, Marquez lost the leading position at Turn 15, and was eliminated from the race on the sixth lap.
