JABAR EKSPRES – The SB Evelyn Calisca ship sank in the waters of Gantung, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau, on Thursday (27/4).
It is known that 11 people died in the sinking of the SB Evelyn Calisca ship.
“11 people have died and were immediately taken to the Tembilahan Hospital, and 1 person is still being searched,” said the Head of the Pekanbaru Search and Rescue (SAR) Office, I Nyoman Sidakarya, Friday (28/4).

Until now, the joint search and rescue team, the National Police, the Indonesian Navy, the BPBD and the local community are still searching for people who have disappeared in the waters of Gantung.
“One person is still being searched, 62 people are safe, so the total passengers are 74 people,” he explained.
“However, it is possible that the number of passengers will increase along with complaints from residents or the public who feel they have lost their families due to this capsized boat tragedy,” he added.
The alleged cause of the sinking of the SB Evelyn Calisca was hitting a log in the Hanging waters area.
Two posts have been built in Gantung and Pelindo Dumai Harbor which are used to collect information or reports from people whose family members have not been found.
Indragiri Hilir Police Chief AKBP Norhayat said that the family members who died had been brought home.
“For the 11 victims who died, the family has taken them for burial,” said Norhayat.

“We don’t know what caused the Evelyn Calisca 01 ship to capsize in the waters of the Hanging. Until now, we are still trying to save the victims who have not been found,” he explained.
