Toyota Prepares 65 units of bZ4X for ASEAN Summit

JABAR EKSPRES — PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) is preparing 65 units of bZ4X electric vehicles to be used at the ASEAN Summit Series 1 which will be held on May 9-11 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

PT TAM President, Hiroyuki Ueda, during the official vehicle handover of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Jakarta on Monday (17/4) said that he was very proud to be selected to fully support the emission-free mobility of the meeting at the event.

“It is an honor for us to be able to actively participate in the success of this prestigious event for ASEAN countries. The selection of the Toyota bZ4X is part of the strategy and reflection of the experience of the last G20 Summit to provide the best mobility experience for the delegates,” said Hiroyuki Ueda, as written in an official statement received on Tuesday (18/4).

As a mobility company, TAM is committed to supporting the Indonesian Government in achieving the zero emission target by 2060.

In this regard, TAM continues to increase the socialization of the use of electrified vehicles, one of which is by conducting an electrified vehicle ecosystem pilot project (EV Smart Mobility) in Bali and Toba to provide access while promoting technology in electrified vehicles to the wider community, including local and foreign tourists.

To increase speed and scale in achieving carbon neutrality, Toyota is implementing a multiple pathways strategy.

Toyota offers a complete range of electrification technology options from Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).

Since 2009, TAM has presented electrified vehicles in the Indonesian market through the Toyota Prius. Now, there are no less than 18 electrified vehicle line-ups that TAM has presented in Indonesia, where until the end of March 2023, the total sales of TAM’s electrified line-up reached 14,197 units.
