JABAR EKSPRES – Commission B for Social Affairs of the Surabaya City DPRD is ready to oversee the payment of the Holiday Allowance (THR) that must be given by employers to workers, employees, or laborers, in the City of Heroes, East Java, ahead of Eid 2023.
“We hope that employers in Surabaya will not neglect their duties in providing THR,” said Commission D Member of Surabaya City DPRD, Tjutjuk Supariono, in Surabaya, Thursday (6/4).
He appreciated the Surabaya City Industry and Manpower Office (Disperinaker) for opening the THR Payment Complaint Post as a good faith effort by Disperinaker to protect workers to get their rights in accordance with applicable laws.
“Do not let people who work in Surabaya not get THR because it has been mandated by law, where every employer is obliged to give their employees the right in the form of THR,” he said.

If there are workers, employees, or laborers, who have not received THR, then immediately report to the Surabaya Industry and Manpower Office so that it can be followed up immediately.
“This shows a form of concern for the little people, namely workers. Eid al-Fitr is a moment that workers crave after a year of work. So they deserve an additional salary in the form of THR,” he said.
For this reason, he said, Commission D is also ready to oversee if there are irregularities in the payment of THR. According to him, the maximum employee THR has been given all on H-7 Lebaran to meet the needs of Lebaran such as buying pastries, Lebaran clothes, and others.
“I hope that the steps taken by the Surabaya Disperinaker will be followed by trade union friends to guard the workers’ THR,” he said.
Head of Surabaya’s Industry and Manpower Office Achmad Zaini previously said that his party had opened an THR Complaint Post starting Monday (3/4) and his party prepared a hotline number and also a WhatsApp number.
