JABAR EKSPRES – The Special Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Japan held its second Special Branch Conference (Konfercabis) on September 16-17 at the NU At-taqwa Mosque and NU Japan Islamic boarding school pilot site in Koga City.
At the opening ceremony, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan Heri Akhmadi congratulated the success of the first NU Mosque in Japan and hoped that the pesantren would follow the success of the mosque.
“I hope that in the future the first NU Islamic Boarding School in Japan can benefit the community, especially the Indonesian people in Japan,” Akhmadi said in a release received in Jakarta, Monday (9/18).

Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Imron Rosyadi, who attended online, highly appreciated the PCINU Japan for pioneering the first NU Pesantren in Japan which is also the first NU pesantren abroad.
“Hopefully PCINU Japan can become one of the mainstay PCINUs in Asia that can generate intellectualism, technocratic and entrepreneurship of the people,” Rosyadi hoped.
Conference committee chairman Indra Frediansyah said the series of conferences this year began in early September for the socialization of the second conference.
“The seminar discussed the Islamic perspective on sake, shoyu and mirin, as well as traditional Japanese drinks and condiments,” Frediansyah said.
In addition, the seminar also discussed the PCINU Japan work program for the 2023-2025 period and the election of the chairman.
The second conference with the theme ‘Strengthening the Khidmah of PCINU Japan in Caring for the Universe and Building Civilization with Islam Rahmatan lil’alamin’ was attended by representatives from 12 NU Special Vice Branch Councils (MWCINU) throughout Japan.
During the event, Achmad Gazali was elected by acclamation to continue the next PCINU management period.
