Jabar Ekspres – The United States (US) is warning North Korea against selling weapons to Russia.
“They will pay the price in the international community,” US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters at the White House on Tuesday (5/9).
Sullivan warned that North Korea should not provide weapons to Russia for use on the battlefield.

Those weapons, he said, could be used to attack grain silos and heating facilities in Ukraine’s major cities as the country prepares for winter.
He considered such an attack likely to be launched by Russia to take control of “territory belonging to a sovereign state”.
Sullivan said the United States has tried to make North Korea aware that it should not sell weapons to Moscow.
He also said the United States “will continue to look for ways to dissuade North Korea from taking this step.”
Last week the White House said secret talks between Russia and North Korea about supplying Russia with weapons for the war in Ukraine were “advancing”.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said U.S. intelligence had obtained leads that Moscow was seeking supplies of artillery shells and raw materials to strengthen Russia’s sanctions-hit defense industrial base.
In December last year, the White House said that Russian Wagner Group mercenaries received a shipment of weapons from North Korea.
In March this year, the White House also said that Russia was pursuing a scheme to barter food for North Korean weapons.

The New York Times newspaper on Monday (Sept. 4) reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow this month to discuss the possibility of selling weapons directly to Russia.
Sullivan did not immediately confirm the veracity of the report, but he emphasized that the North Korean leader considers talks about arms sales with Russia to potentially involve the leaders of the two countries.
