Nicolo Bulega Makes WSBK Debut, Replaces Rinaldi at Ducati

JABAR EKSPRES – World Supersport (WSSP) rider Nicolo Bulega will officially make his World Superbike (WSBK) debut in the 2024 season, following the departure of Michael Ruben Rinaldi from the Aruba. It Ducati team.

“Honestly, this is a dream come true. Racing for an official team is every rider’s dream. Therefore, before I talk about my emotions and expectations, I would like to thank Ducati and Aruba.it Racing,” Bulega said, quoted from the official WSBK statement, Wednesday (9/6).

Bulega’s own name had previously been sticking out and was linked to enter the Ducati factory team in WSBK, given his strong performance as the leader of the WSSP standings for some time.

The young Italian rider said he could not wait to ride the Ducati Panigale V2 and share experiences with the defending champion and current WSBK standings leader, Alvaro Bautista.

“Thinking about the history of this team, where great champions have always raced, I feel proud to be able to maintain the same colors. I’m also very happy to be able to share that with Alvaro Bautista. Having him as a teammate will be a big plus. I will try to absorb every bit of information I can learn from him,” Bulega said.

Furthermore, Aruba.it Ducati Team Principal, Stefano Cecconi, added that his decision to recruit and upgrade Bulega to WSBK was based on his steady growth in the WSSP racing class and his performance during the Ducati bike test for WSBK, some time ago.

“He has proven that he can be very fast on this bike during testing. From the beginning, we believed in the talent of Nicolo who in the past year and a half has shown great professionalism and attachment to the team,” said Cecconi.

Agreeing, Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’Igna assessed that Bulega was able to provide good performance for Ducati since one year ago despite his very young age.
