JABAR EKSPRES – The silver medal won by Indonesian women’s doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti at the 2023 Badminton World Championship, last weekend, managed to bring them back into the top 10 list of the world’s best women’s doubles.
Quoting the BWF official player ranking list, Wednesday, Apri / Fadia moved up four steps to number eight after previously being ranked 12th in the world. They have now collected 69,933 points from the 17 tournaments they have participated in so far.
Meanwhile, the first rank is still occupied by Chinese women’s doubles Chen Qing Chen / Jia Yi Fan who managed to collect 104,904 points from the 13 tournaments they participated in.

Chen/Jia are the 2023 World Championship gold medal winners who defeated Apri/Fadia with a score of 21-16, 21-12. This was Chen/Jia’s fourth win in the tournament and made them the most successful women’s doubles at the World Championships of all time.
In the men’s doubles sector, the pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto are still the best in the world. However, Indian representatives Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty are just under 4,000 points adrift of Fajar/Rian to claim the position.
South Korean men’s doubles Kang Minhyuk/Seo Seung Jae also moved up two places to fourth after winning World Championship gold, just behind Chinese representatives Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang who still fill the top three.
In addition, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan are ranked 10th in the world, just above Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin. While Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Bagas Maulana moved up two places to 13th.
For the men’s singles sector, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is also still ranked second in the world, right behind defending champion Viktor Axelsen who is still firmly at the top. Meanwhile, Jonathan Christie dropped four places and is now ranked ninth in the world.
