JABAR EKSPRES – Malaysian police have begun investigating gay couples’s kiss at The 1975’s concert by the British band’s vocalist and bass player at the Good Vibes 2023 Festival on Friday (7/21) night.
Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan in a statement on Saturday said the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Police Station had received three reports of incidents of extremely barbaric behavior and statements by The 1975 personnel at the festival.
The incidents that occurred at the concert, he said, had hurt the feelings of Malaysians and undermined the laws of the country.
He said the Malaysian Police fully supported the decision of the Malaysian Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) and the Sepang City Council to stop the festival for safety.

A police investigation has commenced by summoning the parties involved.
On behalf of the KKD, the Application Committee for Foreign Filming and Performance of Foreign Artists (JK-PUSPAL) said it had filed a police report against the artists and organizers of the festival for negligence and non-compliance with applicable regulations.
KKD has blacklisted The 1975 from performing in Malaysia.
The act of same-sex kissing on stage was considered an insult, disrespectful of the country’s laws and damaging to the morals of Malaysian society.
Malaysian Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil said he had summoned Future Sound Asia as the promoter of the festival.
He emphasized that there is no compromise with any party that challenges, belittles and violates Malaysian laws.
Fahmi also said he had ordered the cancellation of the festival, which was originally to be held until Sunday (7/23).
