“Of course I am very happy at the moment. It’s not an easy race because the grip of the tires is not good,” said the Dutch driver after the race on the official F1 website.
“Today was very cold compared to Friday and we had a little trouble controlling the car, but we were able to overcome it. To win again and win the 100th Grand Pring for this team is great.”
When asked if he expected to get resistance from other drivers, Verstappen said the tire conditions were the reason other drivers could not put pressure on him.
“First of all, I did a good job today, but it was very difficult because the grip of the tires disappeared quickly.”
“That’s why the gap (with other drivers) is not too big, and also because of the safety cars. However, the most important thing is that we can win,” he continued.
F1 competition will return at the Austrian GP which will take place on July 30 to 2 at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Spielberg.
