Euro 2024 Qualifying Results: England and France Feast on Goals

Jabar Ekspres – The England and France national teams had a goal party in the 3rd matchday of the European Cup (Euro) 2024 qualifiers on Saturday morning WIB.

England won 4-0 over Malta, while France successfully defeated Gibraltar three goals without reply, according to the records of the official UEFA website.

England travel to Ta’Qali National Stadium in a Group C match. The visitors’ goals were scored by Ferdinando Apap’s suicide, Trend Alexander-Arnold, Harry Kane and Callum Wilson.

England opened the scoring when the game was just eight minutes old. Malta defender Ferdinando Apap scored an own goal after wrongly anticipating Bukayo Saka’s pass. The score was 1-0.

The visitors doubled the lead in the 28th minute through Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal. The Liverpool player fired a shot from outside the penalty box that broke into the Maltese goal. England won 2-0.

England were awarded a penalty two minutes later as Harry Kane was brought down in the box. The Tottenham Hotspur striker stepped up as the executor and successfully turned the score into 3-0.

After the break, England continued to play aggressively in the second half. The referee awarded England another penalty in the 83rd minute after Malta’s Steve Borg committed a handball.

This time it was Callum Wilson’s turn to take the penalty. He managed to beat Malta goalkeeper Henry Bonello and put England away 4-0.

The 4-0 score for England lasted until the long whistle sounded. Gareth Southgate’s squad brought home three points.

This victory makes England firmly at the top of Group C with 9 points. Malta did not move from a distended position without winning a single point from three matches.
France beat Gibraltar 3-0

Meanwhile, France also won convincingly against Gibraltar three goals without reply in the 3rd matchday of Group B at the Algarve Stadium, Portugal on Saturday morning WIB.
