Jabar Ekspres – China’s host committee says there are “many difficulties” in organizing, but the Asian Games arena is ready to host the pandemic-delayed competition, which is 100 days away.
The Olympic Games in Hangzhou were scheduled to take place in September 2022 but were postponed a year due to China’s strict COVID-19 rules.
Beijing abruptly scrapped zero-COVID measures in December, and organizing committee vice chairman Zhou Jinqiang, as broadcast by AFP on Wednesday, said that all preparations had entered the “sprint” stage.
The Asian Games will begin on September 23 and last for two weeks.
One of the world’s biggest multi-sport events typically attracts more than 10,000 athletes from across the region.

Zhou said many countries will send their delegations in large numbers this year.
The entire arena – 56 venues – is ready for use but organizing committee member Chen Weidong said the pandemic brought many difficulties to the construction of the arena.
According to Chen, foreign technical staff were previously unable to enter China, and problems had to be solved through video calls.
China’s status as host of the Games took a severe hit during the first three years of the pandemic, when sudden lockdowns and travel rules saw almost all international events canceled in the country.
Meanwhile, Hangzhou, the host city of the Asian Games, is a prosperous technology center south of Shanghai.
