JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesia and Uzbekistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields, Indonesian Vice President, Ma’ruf Amin said, in Tashkent on Tuesday (6/13).
Ma’ruf said this during a courtesy call on Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov at the Cabinet of Ministers Building in Tashkent.
“I am pleased that bilateral cooperation between our two countries continues to run well. And we must continue to improve it. I hope in the future we can strengthen this cooperation, including through mutual visits between leaders and officials of our countries,” he said.
The Vice President conveyed three important points on strengthening Indonesia-Uzbekistan cooperation.

Data shows that the value of cooperation in this field reached US$82.5 million in 2022, which is a very good achievement, Ma’ruf said.
“I hope we can increase this amount, including through new leading sectors, such as halal products,” he said.
He said as a country with the world’s largest Muslim population, Indonesia has advantages in halal products, such as food, beverages and cosmetics.
“Let’s start exploring cooperation for these products, one of which is through mutual recognition of halal certification between the two countries,” the vice president said.
The two leaders also discussed other cooperation opportunities that could be realized, including in the palm oil industry, fertilizers, and strengthening collaboration between the two countries’ chambers of commerce.
The second point, Ma’ruf expressed his appreciation for the opening of the Tashkent-Jakarta direct flight route which is considered to facilitate logistics transportation in supporting the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
“Thus, it can support the export-import of the two countries. I hope in the future this route can continue to be improved,” he said.
