JABAR EKSPRES – Gresini Racing rider Alex Marquez revealed a small mistake and lack of calm when competing in the Italian MotoGP 2023 last weekend, making him fail to reach the podium and ending in a crash.
“This is really embarrassing. After so much bad luck, we have managed to get on the podium (in qualifying). Maybe I should have been happy with a top five finish (in the main race), but I wanted to give it my all and try further,” Alex said, quoted from Gresini Racing’s official statement on Monday.
“I made a small mistake at turn three because I was too much on the inside and touched the white line,” he added.
As for Alex, he lost the front position at the exit of turn three while fighting with Luca Marini (Mooney VR46) and Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac) for the podium.

When he fell, all chances of rejoining the race track also faded.
However, the Spanish rider said he did not want to drag on in sadness and would rise again at the seventh Italian MotoGP 2023 round at Sachsenring, Germany, next weekend.
“We showed once again that we can hang in there but I need more experience with the bike,” said the younger brother of Marc Marquez.
Meanwhile, a slight improvement came from his teammate, Fabio Di Giannantonio, who once again finished 14th but was able to bag some confidence following the two points he collected in Italian MotoGP 2023

“We had a good start and fought with the big teams. It was a positive race with good pace especially in the second half, although a technical problem in the last five laps prevented us from making one or two more positions. However, we got a lot of data for the next race,” said the rider who is familiarly called Diggia.
