JABAR EKSPRES – Jambi Governor Al Haris received the Satyalancana Wirakarya honor award from President Joko Widodo at the opening ceremony of the XVI/2023 National Week (Penas) of Kontak Tani and Nelayan Andalan (KTNA) in Padang, West Sumatra, Saturday (10/6).
The award was given because Al Haris was considered capable of bringing Jambi Province to achieve development targets in the agricultural and plantation sectors.
The award was presented by Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, at the Penas KTNA event which was virtually opened by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto.

After participating in the awarding activity, Al Haris said that the award received was more appropriate to be given to the Jambi people, especially farmers and stakeholders in agriculture.
“Through the achievement of the award, we can arouse the enthusiasm of farmers and agricultural ranks in Jambi Province to continue to increase agricultural production, especially food crop agriculture,” he said.
The Jambi Governor also revealed that the agricultural sector could survive and even exceed the target amid the decline in other sectors as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The government wants to re-strengthen the agricultural sector to be excellent and familiar to the people of Jambi because the majority of our people are farmers,” said Al Haris.
Satyalancana Wirakarya is a sign of honor given by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to its citizens who have given great service to the Indonesian state and nation so that it can be an example for others.
President Jokowi, in a speech delivered by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, asked all regional heads, including governors, regents and mayors, to focus on supporting agricultural development in their regions.
According to the President, the theme of Penas 2023 “Strengthening the potential and bargaining position of local commodities to realize sustainable food self-sufficiency towards Indonesia as the world’s food barn in 2045” is very appropriate and relevant.
