JABAR EKSPRES – The government of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, is forming a Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) for Ampenan Beach so that supervision and management of leading tourist attractions in the area can be optimized.
“After revitalization, we will form the Pokdarwis of Ampenan Beach like the Pokdarwis of Loang Baloq Park,” said Head of the Mataram City Tourism Office (Dispar) Nizar Denny Cahyadi in Mataram, Friday (6/9).
He explained the plan to form the Pokdarwis so that various facilities that have been revitalized at Ampenan Beach can be used optimally, maintained, and maintained.
“We have organized Ampenan Beach many times, but the management has not been maximized so that the existing facilities are not maintained and eventually damaged,” he said.

Related to that, he continued, in 2024 the Mataram City Dispar received a Rp7 billion Ampenan Beach revitalization budget assistance from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).
“Alhamdulillah, the budget that we submitted to Kemenparekraf has been approved by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for 2024,” he said.
He said that with the Rp7 billion budget, the Ampenan Beach tourist attraction would be totally revitalized according to the plan.
In the concept, continued Denny as the Head of Tourism of Mataram City Nizar Denny Cahyadi is familiarly called, revitalization is prioritized on improving the stalls of street vendors (PKL) whose conditions are currently irregular and seem to close the beach area because traders add stalls with makeshift materials.
Therefore, the stalls at the front will now be dismantled and moved to the edge of the building so that all stalls face the beach.
“There will be no more traders who want to be in the front only and do not want to be in the back stalls,” he said.
The former stalls will be arranged specifically for dining. In addition, an arrangement of platforms will be made as a place for visitors to enjoy the sea and the sunset.
