Immigration Deports British Citizen for Burning Villa Gate in Gili Air

JABAR EKSPRES – Immigration officers in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) deported a British citizen with the initials JWH (38), back to his home country after he was revealed to have burned the gate of a villa in the Gili Air tourist area, North Lombok Regency.

“We deported him today to return to his home country in England,” said Head of Mataram Immigration Office Pungki Handoyo in Mataram on Thursday.

His office deported the British citizen based on the rules of Article 75 and / or Article 78 of Indonesian Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

“So, according to that rule, we apply administrative action, namely deportation to their home country,” he said.

In addition to disturbing public order, the examination also revealed that JWH had exceeded the expiration of his residence permit in Indonesia, which expired on May 8, 2023.

Regarding the case of JWH burning the gate of a villa in Gili Air, Pungki assured that his party had helped resolve it through a mediation process.

“Regarding the arson case, it has been resolved through mediation with evidence that JWH paid compensation for the arson action,” he said.

Deportation was carried out with an escort. JWH was flown to the UK via Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.
