JABAR EKSPRES –The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) facilitates the financing of Indonesian film production through the Fintech Securities Crowdfunding (Finscoin) scheme as an alternative funding solution in an effort to support the development of Indonesian cinema.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said in his statement on Wednesday (5/10) that collaboration between the government and the private sector, especially in presenting alternative financing for film production, will have a broad impact on job creation.
“It is time for Indonesia to become a world cinema destination and creator of world-class creative economy products. It is recorded that the film, animation and video subsector in 2021 contributed IDR 2.69 trillion to Indonesia’s GDP,” he said.
Sandi hopes that this program can create a better film ecosystem and of course bring our creative economy, which is now number three in the world, to increase and open up business opportunities and employment.
Through this latest program, Kemenparekraf collaborates with Bizhare and Adhya Pictures, funding through this crowdfunding scheme will be given to three homeland films produced by Adhya Pictures, namely “Bolong/The Hole” (Horror) directed by Hanung Bramantyo.
“Tulang Belulang” (Drama/Comedy) directed by Sammaria Sari Simanjuntak, and “Romeo Ingkar Janji” (Drama/Romance) directed by Emil Heradi with renowned actor Jeremy Thomas as creative director.
Funding for the three film productions was opened through the website platform www.bizhare.id and the Bizhare application.
Meanwhile, the Director of Access to Financing of Kemenparekraf, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana invites and opens wider opportunities for the public to actively participate in financing Indonesian films through the Fintech Securities Crowdfunding (SCF) platform as an alternative to film industry financing that has been licensed by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
Head of the Financial Technology Financing Working Group and the Indonesia Spice Up the World Program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Indriani D. Laratu in her report said, of the four local films launched by the Menparekraf earlier, one of the films “Mantra Surugana” managed to get financing from the public amounting to Rp2.5 billion in just three days.
