JABAR EKSPRES –The Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNPT RI), Commissioner General of Police, Rycko Amelza Dahniel, appreciated the commitment of the Surakarta City Government to involve deradicalization partners or former terrorism prisoners in reducing people who have been exposed to violent ideologies.
“I really appreciate the practical steps and commitment of the Surakarta City Government Mayor, Gibran, who has involved and accommodated deradicalization partners, especially at the Gema Salam Foundation and other youth forums,” he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday (5/6).
The former Head of Police Intelligence added that attention, support, and involvement for deradicalization partners such as the Gema Salam Foundation is one of the keys to the success of deradicalization.
Deradicalization, he said, is not only to cure the ideology of violence, but also to save the future of deradicalization partners, in this case the welfare of life.
“The steps taken by the Surakarta City Government have a huge positive impact on deradicalization partners and the surrounding community,” he said.
According to him, empowering deradicalization partners is a practical step to improve their standard of living and economy. For this reason, BNPT RI is here to provide full support to the Gema Salam Foundation.
“We are here to realize the ideals of protecting all Indonesian spilled blood, improving welfare and developing Indonesia,” he emphasized.
This was conveyed by the Head of BNPT during the Eid Halal Bihalal safari and National Dialogue with Deradicalization Partners in Solo Raya who are members of the Gema Salam Foundation.
Furthermore, Rycko added that in order to improve the welfare of deradicalization partners in the Greater Solo area, BNPT and regional agencies will work together and help solve problems or obstacles faced by the Gema Salam Foundation and other deradicalization partners.
“Gema Salam is a forum for friendship and sharing, a place to multiply the quality of life. I hope that all parties who partner with this foundation can receive and provide benefits,” he hoped.
