Haris Pertama: KNPI Committed to Support Anas Urbaningrum

JABAR EKSPRES —  The Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Chairman, Haris Pertama, said his organization was ready to support alongside Anas Urbaningrum.

“I and my KNPI friends will support with Anas Urbaningrum,” he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/4).

The assertion was made by Haris when giving a speech at a gathering and breakfasting with the Big Family of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) in Bandung, West Java.

Haris along with thousands of youth activists and HMI warmly welcomed Anas Urbaningrum after he breathed free air from a prison term of 9 years and 3 months.

“The welcome to Bang Anas was extraordinary, we all felt the figure of a brother, mentor, teacher and senior who has shaped us to be like now with joy,” he said.

Haris believes that what Anas has lived for 9 years and 3 months or since 2013 during his detention, is believed to be politically charged.

“I am very sure that what Bang Anas has experienced is an act of zholim and is full of political content,” he said.

Haris also stated that from the beginning there had been oddities in the legal process and criminalization or political persecution by using the law against his senior. That Anas Urbaningrum is a victim of unchivalrous and unfair political competition.

“The claws of power in intervening in the law to ensnare the nation’s children in the name of ambition, group or group interests, must no longer occur in this country. The youth will fight all forms of criminalization, because the law must be the commander of justice,” he emphasized.

Haris was also happy for Bang Anas Urbaningrum’s freedom. Those who are members of KNPI feel happy with Anas’ release, because KNPI will get a senior partner in thinking, ideating and moving.
