JABAR EKSPRES — The Bandung City Government is targeting to install Electronic Fiscal Device (EFD) at 1,000 points to increase potential local tax revenue.
Head of the Bandung City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Iskandar Zulkarnain, said the installation of EFD in Bandung aims to obtain data on tax potential in real time, so that it can be monitored and used properly.
“This can also increase the compliance of tax payers (WP). Because local taxpayers are the main actors in achieving local tax targets, so we need valid data from taxpayers,” said Iskandar during the EFD socialization at the Bandung City Hall Auditorium, Tuesday (11/4).

Iskandar revealed that the installation of the EFD equipment is carried out in stages, and has started since January 30, 2023, where to date 363 points have been installed, consisting of 27 points in hotel taxpayers (WP), four points in parking taxpayers, 314 points in restaurant taxpayers, and 18 points in entertainment taxpayers.
Furthermore, Iskandar explained that monitoring taxpayer transactions is an intensification step in optimizing local revenue from the regional taxation sector.
He said Bandung City’s local revenue from hotel, restaurant, entertainment, and parking taxes can be optimized considering the significant amount, where the realization in 2020 collected IDR 416 billion or 25 percent of Bandung City’s Regional Original Revenue (PAD).
“In 2021, it amounted to IDR 405 billion or 24 percent of the Bandung City PAD. Then, in 2022 it amounted to IDR744 billion or 35 percent of Bandung City’s PAD,” he said.

The installation of this EFD, said Iskandar, had begun with a trial period of three months, from November 2022 to January 2023 where at the time of the trial 14 points had been installed.
“We are taking intensification steps by installing regional tax online transaction recording devices in stages. In 2023, we will use a new scheme with maintenance by service providers and we aim to reach 1,000 points,” he said.
