Dozens of Umrah Jemaah Who Were Stranded in Jakarta Have Been Repatriated

JABAR EKSPRES — A total of 93 Umrah jemaah from Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who had been stranded in Jakarta for three days have been sent home, after previously failing to leave for the Holy Land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

“They have been sent home,” said the Head of Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Central Lombok Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Samsul Hadi, in Praya on Monday (10/4).

His travel still cannot provide an explanation regarding the 93 Umrah jemaah who failed to leave, because they still have not coordinated further with the travel.

“The reason is that we still don’t know, if the demands of the congregation so that the deposit money that has been given can be returned,” he said.

As for sanctions, it is also not certain, even though the travel has officially registered with the center.

“Travel is official and has been registered, for sanctions we cannot yet provide an explanation,” he said.

With this incident, his party also appealed to the public to be more selective in choosing Umrah travel, so that the same problem does not occur.

“This is the first incident in Central Lombok, so far there has not been any,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the jemaah from Praya, Central Lombok, TGH, Fadil Tohir, when interviewed live by one of the National TV in Jakarta, said, he and other jemaah departed from Lombok airport to Jakarta Airport on Wednesday, April 5 and left for Jeddah.

He and the congregation left for Jakarta using two different planes at their own expense to purchase tickets based on a statement letter from the travel and supported by the airplane booking code for flights to Jeddah Airport.
