Ambassador Ubaedillah Hands Over Credentials to Sultan of Brunei

JABAR EKSPRES – Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Achmad Ubaedillah submitted credentials to Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Wednesday (9/13), as a duty of state diplomacy.

“On the occasion of an audience with His Majesty, His Majesty the Sultan, I also conveyed that Indonesian citizens feel Brunei as a second home. Thank you for Your Majesty’s attention,” Ubaedilllah said in a written statement here on Thursday (9/14).

Ubaedilllah, accompanied by Deputy Chief Representative Irwan Iding, arrived at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan at 2pm local time.

The Ambassador was then taken to the Facing Hall and delivered credentials to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

During the meeting with the Sultan, Ubaedillah conveyed warm greetings from President Joko Widodo and also lauded the close and brotherly relationship between the leaders and people of the two countries.

The ambassador also conveyed the priorities of bilateral cooperative relations, including in the labor sector and the expansion of trade in halal products.

According to the statement, the Sultan said that Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) have made a positive contribution to Brunei’s development while welcoming that the two countries can work together to develop Tourism and the Halal Industry.

In particular, the Sultan also wished the Indonesian government good luck in holding the upcoming 2024 presidential election, as quoted.

It is said that the ambassadors of China, Vietnam, Singapore and Saudi Arabia were also present at the credentialing ceremony.
