VW Cuts Electric Vehicles Production Amid Falling Demand

Volkswagen is rumored to have invested 1 billion euros into electric vehicle production at the Emden plant, with the next-generation Passat being built in Slovakia to free up space for more electric cars at the facility.

Economic affairs minister for the state of Lower Saxony (where the Emden plant is located) Olaf Lies as quoted by German newspaper North West said, “Electric vehicle registration numbers continue to be high, but what concerns us is the current decline in demand not only at Volkswagen but at all manufacturers,” he said.
