Jabar Ekspres – The band Kanda Brothers released the album “Element of Life” with the lead single “We Were Young” in collaboration with musician Iga Massardi.
“Element of Life” is a response from Aldy (vocals), Ricky (bass), Gerry (guitar) and Danna (drums) to the emotions symbolized in the five elements of air, earth, fire, water and metal, as written in a press release on Tuesday.
Previously, the Kanda Brothers have released the singles “Hello” which represents the air element that offers positive and optimistic energy, and “Go” which collaborates with Fuji to represent the earth element that is so thick with sadness.
This time, “We Were Young” was released as a depiction of angry emotions representing the fire element.

According to Kanda Brothers, many people are met with a sense of disappointment in themselves and end up regretting their previous decisions.
“We Were Young” is like a wake-up call to not get sucked into that feeling, because it’s never too late to explore yourself again.
“If you look further, failure is just a concept that is not necessarily the end result. Every moment is related, every decision affects the quality of how well you know yourself,” says Ricky.
Success or Failure, according to them, is a small part of the process.
Iga Massardi is trusted to be the person who can sharpen the message of the song. Known for his strength in writing critical lyrics with the band Barasuara, Iga Massardi attracted Kanda Brothers with his perspective on many things.
“In addition to the spirit of modernization through his music, which is completely new to us, this song is also our communication response with Iga to various ideas about the meaning of failure,” says Aldy.
“We Were Young”, Kanda Brothers’ latest work through the album “Elements of Life”, which was also released at the same time, can be enjoyed through all digital music platforms along with a video clip produced by director Sakti Marendra.
