RI – Qatar Collaborate to Launch Translated Children’s Storybooks!

Jabar Ekspres – The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Doha in collaboration with the Qatar Ministry of Culture launched two translated children’s storybooks.

The first book entitled “Damar Kurung Friendship” by Nindia Nurmayasari translated by Abdullah Asmawi into Arabic and the second book entitled “Madza taqul ar-rimal” by Dr. Sama Al Hajry translated with the title “What Do Grains of Sand Say?” by Choris Wahyuni.

“This is not just about translating, but also about instilling values. Moreover, the translated book is a book for children. So, the choice of words must be done very precisely,” Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Ridwan Hassan said in a written statement here on Monday.

The book launch event was held on the sidelines of the Doha International Book Fair at the Doha Exhibition Convention Center (DECC) which took place on June 12-21, and was attended by Ambassador Hassan, Director of Publishing and Translation of the Qatar Ministry of Culture Mohammed Al Kuwari and Chairperson of the Qatar Writers Association Aisha Al Kuwari.
