Pram/Yere Repeat Minor Result Against Aaron/Soh at Indonesia Open

JABAR EKSPRES – Unsatisfactory results were again experienced by the men’s doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana / Jeremia Erich Yoche Rambitan at the Indonesia Open 2023 after losing to the pair Aaron Chia / Soh Wooi Yik in the semifinals on Saturday (6/17) night.

Pram/Yere’s rubber game defeat to the Malaysian men’s doubles repeated their poor record in the quarter-finals of last year’s Indonesia Open.

In a match crowded with cheering supporters, Pram/Yere immediately appeared solid in the first game. Stable techniques and patterns gave them the opportunity to gain points.

A patient and focused pattern of play was Pram/Yere’s strength in the game. They did not rush to kill the serve and waited for Aaron/Soh to let their guard down to finally create points.

Pram/Yere led at the interval with 11-5. After the break, Pram/Yere seemed to use a new pattern by applying pressure from the front of the net.

They were able to turn the Malaysian duo’s bouncing passes into smes that could not be cleared by their opponents. The advantage for Pram/Yere was further adrift with 19-10.

The closing point of the first game was won by Pram/Yere thanks to Aaron’s negligence when trying to return a rally from the front of the net. His punch missed so that the shuttlecock actually drove to the left side of the field. The first game ended with a score of 21-12.

Aaron/Soh took the lead at the start of the second game. Thanks to their service, Aaron/Soh were able to dictate the pattern of the game to excel 1-6 and 4-9.

But Pram/Yere did not want to lose and displayed tough defense. Their returns were also fairly accurate because they were able to read empty zones that were not guarded by their opponents.
