13 Indonesian Representatives Continue Their Fight for The Last 16 of The Indonesia Open

JABAR EKSPRES – A total of 13 representatives of the home team will continue their struggle in the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2023 which takes place at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Thursday (6/15).

One of them is the world number one men’s doubles Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto, who will return to feel the fierce competition at Istora after getting a one-day break.

Fajar/Rian, who first competed on Tuesday, will meet Chinese men’s doubles Ren Xiang Yu/Tan Qiang in the second round of the BWF Super 1000 category tournament.

Responding to the meeting against Ren / Tan, Fajar / Rian want to stay focused on undergoing the best possible match and certainly not underestimate the opponent.

“They are also a good pair, a strong pair. We don’t want to be complacent and we want to focus from the start of the match,” said Fajar when met at Istora Senayan.

The match on the third day will also feature a civil war match from the men’s doubles sector, between Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.

Ahead of their meeting with the pair nicknamed The Daddies, Pram/Yere already know the key to their game going well.

“In our opinion, the Daddies’ strengths are in their experience and composure. That’s what makes them the best players until. We can also use that strategy,” Pramudya revealed.

Other exciting matches will also be present in the second round of the Indonesia Open, for example the women’s doubles Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi / Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma who will meet top seeds Chen Qing Chen / Jia Yi Fan from China.

In addition, Putri Kusuma Wardani from the women’s singles will also meet the top-seeded Japanese badminton player, Akane Yamaguchi.
