BMKG Warns Several Areas to be Aware of Potential Heavy Rains

JABAR EKSPRES – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has asked several regions in Indonesia to be aware of the potential for heavy rain with more than 50 millimeters today, Monday (6/12).

Based on the BMKG’s official website, in Jakarta, the potential for heavy rain is expected to occur in Aceh, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Lampung, West Java and East Java.

Heavy rain is also potentially experienced by West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.

While the potential for strong winds with speeds of more than 45 kilometers per hour must also be watched out for by areas such as South Sumatra, West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua.

Not only heavy rain and strong winds, the potential for rain accompanied by lightning or thunder should also be watched out for by the regions of South Sumatra, West Java, East Java and West Nusa Tenggara.

Areas such as West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku and West Papua should also be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning or thunder.

The presence of heavy rains and strong winds accompanied by lightning or thunder before finally making some areas potentially flooded such as East, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.

“For South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara and Central Kalimantan, there is the potential for forest fires,” said BMKG.
