JABAR EKSPRES – The Regional Library and Archives Education Office (DPPAD) of Papua Province believes that the New Learner Admission (PPDB) in 2023 cannot be 100 percent implemented in Bumi Cenderawasih.
Head of the Special Education and Special Services Division of the Papua Regional Library and Archives Education Office, Laurens Wantik in Jayapura, Saturday (6/10), said zoning-based PPDB is carried out if all school facilities and infrastructure are better.
“We urge that PPDB in Papua is still carried out but look at the conditions in each school,” he said.

There are several government policies related to PPDB 2023, namely zoning, achievement and moving parents and affirmation pathways.
According to Laurens, the PPDB policy through the zoning route cannot be carried out 100 percent in Papua because the accreditation of each school in the area is different.
“Parents definitely want their children to get an education in a better school,” he said.
He explained that in Papua, most schools are private schools so that with the zoning route, private schools may experience a shortage of students.
“Therefore, we urge that in PPDB in Papua we can use other channels such as achievement, affirmation and moving parents,” he said.
He added that the zoning route can be used when all schools in Papua have the same accreditation, namely A or B accreditation.
“So if there is a school with C accreditation or no accreditation, it is impossible for children to enter even though they live around the school, this is a situation that we cannot be sure of,” he said again.
